Change comes about when people are passionate about a cause. In order to become passionate, we need to expose ourselves to hard truths. There is no denying the fact that Canada committed a cultural genocide against the Indigenous people of this land. Change comes about when we are willing to speak about the so called "controversial". In this day and age, almost everything is controversial, and this has led to a significant decrease in safe spaces for people to express themselves. Below are two documents. The first is the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action, whereas the second document contains accounts of Residential School survivors in a document called the Survivors Speak. Let's start exposing ourselves to peoples stories, and work on creating a safe space for everyone.
